Research and proposals
One of SHARE’s key activities is researching and proposing laws and policies related to SRHR. We released a draft of the Framework Act on Assurance of Sexual and Reproductive Rights, which emphasizes the importance of the total decriminalization of abortion and the need to guarantee SRHR in all areas of life including medical care, education, work, and social welfare. SHARE believes that the state has a duty to guarantee SRHR and must shift its policy direction to focus on assuring sexual and reproductive rights rather than population control.
In addition, SHARE continues to engage in diverse research and advisory activities related to sex and reproduction. SHARE also presents its position at discussions and forums on related policies including the guarantee of the right to pregnancy termination, human rights of people living with HIV (PLWHA), and introduction of abortifacients as well as SRHR overall and submits advisory opinions to diverse units including government agencies.
SHARE advocates establishing a system based on the principles of equality and non-discrimination to address violations of rights based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, and other factors.
SHARE points out that sexual and reproductive rights are rights that must be guaranteed in all spheres of life including medicine, education, labor, and social welfare, and that the state has a duty to guarantee them.
